Smart City #25: Schools as Smart City Innovation Hubs: The Case of Pforzheim?

Smart City #25: Schools as Smart City Innovation Hubs: The Case of Pforzheim?

In our latest Smart City series, Nina Mülhens, co-founder and CEO of DigitalSchoolStory, describes how schools are becoming local innovation hubs and shaping the future using real-world city data.

Using the Smart City #25 DigitalSchoolStory project in Pforzheim as an example, the article demonstrates how schools can become innovation hubs for local communities. Students work with real-world data on climate, mobility, and the environment, analyze it, and develop their own perspectives for their city. The approach combines digital education, social responsibility, and workforce development, and demonstrates how municipalities can involve young people early on as co-creators of the city of tomorrow.
